Stevie Matthews releases new single, Million Little Things on February 3rd, 2023.
Singer-songwriter Stevie Matthews writes kids' music for adults. Million Little Things is the newest entry to his catalog of earnest, off-beat piano-driven pop songs.
Million Little Things is a song about money. It isn’t the first song on the subject, but it’s probably the only one to shout out 19th-century textile designer William Morris.
“It’s the anti ‘I wanna be rich’ pop song. It came to be during my first summer living on my own. I was pretty much broke, and I started daydreaming about everything I wished I had. I wrote it all out and realized that it was pretty embarrassing. A timeshare? Why share? A dutch oven? An implement of labor! Beyond the joke of it all, I wanted to investigate my persistent yearning for things. Like, what’s really going on inside me, what is this void that I’m trying to fill?”
Stevie’s new release follows up his 2021 EP, Going Home, whose debut music video garnered over 35,000 views and received coverage in the Oyster Bay Enterprise-Pilot.
